Accounting or Finance Summer 2027 Internship

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, provides railroad products, services, and technologies. The Accounting or Finance Student Intern will learn and support accounting and finance processes, including journal entries, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, billing, budgeting, financial analysis, and data analytics.

What you'll do:

• Preparation and entry of a variety of journal entries (standard entries, accruals, etc.)
• Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and supporting reports
• Perform balance sheet analysis, reconcile various general ledger accounts, and maintain supporting documentation for multiple legal entities
• Support software system for financial reporting
• Perform data entry of accounts payable invoices in an accurate and timely manner
• Communicate with internal and external customers on accounts payable inquiries
• Perform customer billing activities
• Complete a variety of financial budgeting and analysis activities
• Utilize data analytics tools
• Ensure compliance with department standards
• Follow established accounting principles and procedures
