Accounting Services - Federal Work Study Student Assistant

CSUSB Latino Alumni Chapter is seeking a motivated accounting major to join as a work study student assistant and gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment. This role involves assisting with journal entries, reconciling financial statements, and supporting various accounting tasks while working closely with experienced staff.

What you'll do:

• Help maintain Journal entries and month end reconciliations
• Assist in daily tasks, answer phones, emails, pass out correspondence
• Route Trust Fund Fact Sheets for signatures and maintain records
• Log and track checks that come in the mail
• Organize and help maintain digital filing system and files in storage
• Assist with purchase orders, Printing Services requests, IT requests and Facilities requests
• Assist staff with special projects and administrative tasks
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current award year
• Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
• Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) per semester
• Must have a federal need of at least $2,000
• Submit all requested financial aid documentation from your To-Do-List by the due date
• Must have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office
• Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or permanent resident
• Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position
• Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student
• Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative
• Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
• International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
