About this role
Seaboard’s Corporate Accounting Department manages financial reporting, ERP systems, automation, and analytics initiatives across its divisions. The Accounting Systems Intern will support the planning, development, monitoring, testing, documentation, and maintenance of automation technologies and ERP systems while gaining experience in accounting and business process analysis.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with division personnel, other corporate departments, and external auditors
- Assist in and learn to use Microsoft SharePoint, Viva Engage, and similar IT tools
- Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
- Become proficient at creating workflows in the Seaboard environment in UiPath, Savant, and other tools
- Do minor development of automations and changes to existing automations once up to speed on the development cycle
- Test new automations and help users with testing automations
- Learn configuration management practices within the Seaboard automation environment and be able to move approved processes into the production environment
- Review automations run each day. Look for errors and failures and perform top level troubleshooting
- Write documentation for how automations are used, configured, etc
- Learn to perform business analysis to document the “human process” and proposed “robot process” for automation requests
- Take on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations
What they're looking for:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting OR Computer Science/Information Systems/Data Science
- Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
- Satisfactory completion of introductory computer science, information systems, or data science courses
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a must
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
- Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
- Commitment: 8-12 months
- Highly organized, creative and detail oriented are very important
- Should be curious with a positive attitude and able to work independently and in a group environment
- Experience with other Microsoft tools such as SharePoint, Yammer, Teams, Visio, Power BI is desirable
- Experience with automation tools such as UiPath, Alteryx, Savant, or Power Automate is desirable
