Accounts Receivable Representative I - Remote

UNFI is North America’s premier grocery wholesaler, delivering a variety of products to community grocers and retail chains. The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for managing incoming payments, ensuring accurate invoices, and maintaining customer account records to support the organization’s cash flow.

What you'll do:

• Invoicing & Billing: Generate and distribute accurate invoices and statements to customers in a timely manner
• Payment Processing: Record and reconcile incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit cards, wire transfers) and accurately apply them to the correct customer accounts
• Collections: Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, identify overdue accounts, and contact clients via email or phone to secure payment
• Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or customer queries regarding their accounts
• Account Reconciliation: Maintain and update files, ledger accounts, and customer records
• Reporting: Assist in generating periodic reports for management on aging accounts and collection progress
• Performs other duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent on-the-job experience)
• 0-2 years of experience in accounting, billing, or general office administration
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with accounting software
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available
