Rayburn Correctional Center is seeking a motivated and detailed-orientated Administrative Coordinator 3 to provide administrative support for the facility’s Medical Department. This position plays a vital role in maintaining medical records for the inmate population housed at RCC, and making the records accessible to nurses within the Medical Department. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgement, and can excel in a fast pace environment where each day is different.

Position Duties

Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Other Qualifications

Job Duties: 

  • Sorts filing material numerically and files in the inmate medical records.
  • May coordinate with the Warden’s Office regarding all legal matters concerning inmate medical records and information pertaining to the Medical Department requested by attorneys. 
  • Assures timely copying, certification and submission of requested documentation. 
  • Employee in a Correctional Center will be expected to work closely with inmates as part of regular duties.

  • This position will work directly with staff from every department.

Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE 

  • Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. 
  • An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
