The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Administrative Services (DAS), is recruiting for a Administrative Officer 2.
This position is in the Supervisors Union (SU) bargaining unit at a range 19.
This position is open to Alaska Residents only.

Please Note: This position requires full-time on-site work at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to facilitate collaboration with various divisions supported by DAS' Administrative Section. Remote work may be permitted up to two days a week, subject to the hiring manager’s approval, and/or successful completion of probation.
What You Will Be Doing:
As DAS’s new Administrative Officer 2 (AO 2), you will be part of an outstanding management team. As the AO 2, you will play a vital role by being responsible for overseeing administrative operations, budget analysis, and financial management for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs' Office of the Commissioner, Division of Administrative Services, and State Active-Duty program. The position also serves as the State Program Manager for the Distributed Learning Program under the Cooperative Agreement and supervises an Administrative Assistant 2, an Administrative Assistant 3, and a Training Specialist 2.

The successful applicants must pass a federal background check in order to qualify for military base access, which is required with this position's work location on base. The background check may include fingerprinting. Job Specific Requirements:
May travel to remote areas of the state to support the Departments missions. May travel to Juneau, Fairbanks, and other out of state locations for coordination and training in support of the DLP appendix. May travel to different divisions/components by car or light truck for face to face meetings. DMVA is housed on the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson military base incumbent must be able to pass security check to access this federal military installation. Adherence to special security guidelines, protocol, etc. for Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson needs to be followed. Civilian workers support the Administrative functions of the department which includes National Guard, and requires confidentiality and the ability to work in a combined civilian and military work environment.
