Under direct supervision support clients in the agency’s health service clinics by conducting registration interviews, assessing financial eligibility, processing client information, and ensuring the delivery of service aligns with the agency’s core values. This position follows the agency’s policies and procedures to maintain efficient, confidential, and effective service delivery.


Clinic Operations or Health Department Operations
Greets customers, answers phone calls, schedules appointments in the South Carolina Women, Infants and Children (SCWIC) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and assists clients with inquiries. Ensures smooth clinic operations by efficiently managing medical records, both paper and electronic, in compliance with established policies and guidance. Provides assistance with the operations and safety of the Health Department.

Client Financial Assessment & Eligibility Determination
Assesses financial information to determine client eligibility based on established guidelines, program requirements and Patient Billing Administration Manual. Verifies healthcare coverage in the HDX database. Adheres to Petty Cash & Change Funds and Patient Billing program policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance. Facilitates the completion of Medicaid applications as required by financial findings.

Direct Client Services
Meets, interviews, and assists clients during intake and check-out, ensuring all interactions align with program policies and procedures. Processes client information accurately, completes medical records, and updates client profiles in SCWIC, SIMON, EHR, and AppXtender systems. 

Customer Service
Maintains strict confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of client privacy. Ensures the delivery of services aligns with the agency's core values. Collaborates with other team members to ensure the effective delivery of services and promote a positive, professional and supportive working environment.

Administrative Support
Completes and submits all required reports, and documentation, including Personnel Cost Accounting System (PCAS), South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS), leave requests, and in-service/training requests, following agency policies and supervisor’s guidance. Participates in required and optional training opportunities to support professional development. Contribute to disaster response efforts as needed, supporting agency operations during emergencies. Actively participates in team meetings and contributes to team goals and initiatives.

Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned related to the position, including required travel if requested, and responds as directed during emergencies which may occur outside normal work hours, and travel if requested.

Position Duties

State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
