Now Brewing – advisor, Public Policy Leaders! #tobeapartner
At Starbucks, we’re committed to being a different kind of company—one that not only celebrates coffee and connection, but also thoughtfully engages in the policy issues that shape our business and the communities we serve.
As advisor, public policy, you will help advance Starbucks public policy and advocacy work on workforce, benefits, economic development, and related issues that impact our partners, our business, and the communities we serve. This role supports the development and execution of policy strategies aligned to enterprise priorities, translates complex policy developments into clear business implications and recommendations, and helps ensure Starbucks shows up as a trusted, constructive voice in policy conversations.
As a public policy advisor, you will…
- Support the development and execution of integrated policy strategies.
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate legislative and regulatory developments that may impact business operations or long-term policy priorities.
- Identify emerging policy trends, risks, and opportunities; develop clear insights, recommendations, and decision-ready materials for leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with trade associations, coalitions, policy experts, and external advisors to help advance policy priorities.
- Coordinate with third-party partners to gather insights, develop shared advocacy approaches, and mobilize external support for policy priorities.
- Develop clear advocacy materials, including executive briefings, policy memos, talking points, testimony, comment letters, and legislative updates.
- Partner across business teams to align on policy positions and engagement strategies.
- Conduct advocacy activity in alignment with lobbying, ethics, disclosure, and political compliance requirements.
