Agency Accountant

Superior Insurance Partners is a rapidly growing insurance brokerage platform serving commercial lines, personal lines, and employee benefits. The Staff Accountant will support acquired agencies with accounting and agency management system responsibilities, including reconciliations, general ledger accounting, month-end close, reporting, and financial analysis.

What you'll do:

• Process, record, and reconcile deposits received by Superior
• Track and follow up with agency on overdue client accounts
• Reconcile direct bill commission statements
• Reconcile premium payables and issue carrier payments
• Reconcile monthly bank statements
• Review of monthly producer and sub-broker commissions
• Draft and send invoices to agency customers
• Reconcile general ledger accounts as needed
• Enter journal entries
• Handle audit requests
• Prepare monthly financial reports including variance analysis
• Assist in the creation of ad hoc financial analyses for agency partners

What they're looking for:

• Accounting degree and 1+ years' experience working with small to mid-size multi-location companies or 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced skills), Word, Outlook and preferably Power Point
• Must be able to multi-task and meet agreed upon deadlines
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced/high-growth environment
• Proficiency in Applied EPIC and/or AMS360
• Insurance industry experience
• Experience reconciling carrier commission statements
