About this role
Lennox provides climate-control solutions for residential and commercial customers. The AI-Enabled Full-Stack Software Engineering Intern will develop frontend and backend applications, support AI-assisted software delivery and enterprise application modernization, and contribute to data modeling, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
What you'll do:
- Design, build, and refine production-quality web application features under the guidance of experienced software engineers
- Develop frontend components and user experiences using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Build and enhance backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
- Translate business requirements and user feedback into scalable software solutions
- Support the development and validation of reusable AI skills, agents, scaffolding patterns, and iterative delivery workflows
- Explore and improve AI-assisted development techniques to increase quality, speed, and repeatability
- Assist in documenting and refining AI development practices for future project teams
- Contribute to the creation of reusable playbooks, development standards, and delivery frameworks
- Support modernization efforts for strategic enterprise applications, including the ADP Compass platform
- Develop user-facing capabilities such as search functionality, configuration tools, optimization results, and comparison views
- Assist in enhancing solution resiliency, performance, and maintainability
- Participate in feature reviews, demonstrations, and sprint-based development activities
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot or a comparable backend development framework
- Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Understanding of REST API design and integration principles
- Knowledge of SQL, relational database concepts, and data modeling
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub version control practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn quickly, work through ambiguity, and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Developing professional knowledge in the area of expertise
