AI Engineer

Raydar is recruiting for an early-stage software company seeking an AI Engineer to build the core AI capabilities of its software product in close partnership with the CEO. The role combines backend and data engineering with hands-on product development, including AI workflows, data pipelines, user iteration, and production releases.

What you'll do:

• Shape the technical direction for data modeling, AI components and the underlying platform
• Design and release autonomous, multi-step AI workflows that help users move complex transactions along faster
• Create data pipelines, including location-based data processing, that bring in a variety of public and industry sources
• Work side by side with the CEO, running quick iteration cycles with real users to find the right product fit
• Set engineering standards for testing, peer review and monitoring as the team expands

What they're looking for:

• Up to 3 years of industry experience, or comparable capability from internships or early-career projects
• Hands-on work with large language model applications, such as orchestration, retrieval and tool calling, using popular frameworks
• Solid server-side development in Python and TypeScript, covering APIs, data workflows and secure coding practices
• A record of taking new products from nothing to launch, ideally while working closely with the people who use them
• Willingness to embed with users, build alongside them and adjust quickly based on their feedback
• Experience creating evaluation suites for AI systems
• Familiarity with electricity markets or energy economics
• Curiosity about climate and clean energy topics
