We're looking for an aspiring product manager who is passionate about AI, consumer experiences, and data-driven storytelling to join us in building the future of data citizenship. You'll focus on generative user experiences, prompting strategy, evaluation systems, and product analytics, helping us determine how to best leverage AI to equip Americans with the facts. ## Key Priorities and Responsibilities - User & Market Research: Participate in user research initiatives, including surveys, feedback sessions, and usability testing to gather insights and feedback on new and existing features. Research and understand current trends in consumer-facing AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, CoPilot) and the civic tech landscape. - Feature Ideation: Contribute ideas for new features and improvements based on user feedback, prototyping, experimentation, research, and team collaboration. - Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, and other teams to ensure smooth development and launch of features. - Product Requirements: Aid in documenting product requirements by collaborating with stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with desired outcomes. - Assist with Product Roadmap: Support in maintaining and updating the product roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the team's goals and objectives. - QA Testing: Assist in the Quality Assurance process, helping identify bugs and ensuring features work as intended before release. - Metrics and Analysis: Support in tracking product metrics and analyzing user behavior to understand feature performance and areas of improvement. - Participate in Team Meetings: Attend regular team meetings, product reviews, and other relevant sessions, contributing actively and learning from experienced team members. ## The Ideal Candidate - Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, computer science, data science, human-computer interaction, economics, journalism, linguistics, psychology, sociology, or a related degree. - Interest in building new digital products with a team of PMs, user-experience designers, software engineers, data scientists, and subject matter experts. - Following the latest developments in the fast-moving AI & LLM space, including technical innovations, design trends, and business impact. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work setting. - Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent tools and experience using AI tools. Experience with Python, prototyping, or coding with AI a plus. - A genuine interest in product management and Applied AI. - A genuine interest in civic tech and the power of data in driving positive societal change. ## Your Internship with USAFacts This is a paid, full-time summer internship for your penultimate year of undergraduate study, where you'll do real work on real products.
