AI Research Engineer

Yara AI is building a modern platform for finding work through professional profiles, smart matching, and human-centered recruiting. The AI Research Engineer role works at the intersection of research and product, focusing on model training, evaluation, optimization, and infrastructure that brings research results to customers.

What you'll do:

• Post-training and fine-tuning
• Building RL environments and evals
• Model optimization
• The infrastructure that turns a research result into something customers use

What they're looking for:

• You've trained, fine-tuned, or evaluated models yourself, at work, in a lab, or on your own hardware
• You know the difference between a wrapper and a system, because you've had to fix the wrapper
• You read papers and then reproduce them. You keep up weekly
• Your ML work sits on real engineering fundamentals: you can write the training loop and the service that serves it
• You want to be in San Francisco, in the office, with the people building this
• 1 to 6 years of experience, or a strong research record with less
• Python and PyTorch, plus real experience with LLM training, evals, or inference optimization
• Experience with RL, post-training, synthetic data, or agent environments is a strong plus
• A strong program, a published result, or an open-source contribution people use
• You live in the Bay Area, or you're ready to move for the right team
• Links to anything you've trained, evaluated, or shipped with models
