A day in the life of an AI Specialist, AI Studio at VF looks a little like this. 

The AI Specialist is a hands-on builder within VF’s AI Studio Program who supports the delivery of AI prototypes, workflows, and solutions across VF’s brands and functions. Working inside a pod under the direction of a Product Manager, this role executes assigned AI seed-project tasks — building and testing workflows, supporting pilots, and helping teams adopt validated solutions.

This role works under close supervision on clearly scoped assignments. The right person is curious, practical, and eager to learn — comfortable picking up new AI tools quickly, asking good questions, and adapting their approach as a supervisor or senior teammate provides direction.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. 

Solution Building & Prototyping

• Build prototypes and proofs of concept using AI tools, APIs, automation platforms, and lightweight application frameworks, as directed by the Product Manager or senior team members.

• Support the design of AI-enabled workflows by documenting current processes and implementing defined changes.

• Translate clearly scoped tasks and requirements into working technical solutions, seeking clarification when requirements are ambiguous.

Testing, Piloting & Scaling

• Support testing and piloting of solutions with business teams, incorporating feedback under the guidance of the pod lead.

• Help build reusable components and documentation that support scaling of validated solutions across brands.

• Research and try out emerging AI tools and techniques as assigned, and report findings to the team.

Enablement & Change Management

• Support deployment of solutions by helping teams follow new processes as directed.

• Assist in developing training materials and delivering basic training to business teams and functional champions, under supervision.

• Provide day-to-day brainstorming and hands-on support to AI champions across functions.

Collaboration & Responsible Delivery

• Partner with product managers, functional leads, DT liaisons, and change agents within the project pod.

• Deliver assigned tasks against timelines set by the Product Manager, escalating risks or blockers promptly.

• Follow responsible-by-design practices — security, privacy, governance, and responsible AI standards — as defined by the organization.

What do you need to succeed? 

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 0-2 years of experience and professional achievements. 

The foundation skills you will need in this position are: 

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

• 0–2 years of experience building software, automations, or AI/ML solutions; recent graduates and early-career builders with strong project work are encouraged to apply.

• Exposure to modern AI tools, LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or automation/no-code/low-code platforms.

• Working knowledge of a scripting language such as Python, with willingness to develop API and data-integration skills.

• Strong learning agility and comfort asking for guidance when requirements or constraints change.

• Good problem-solving instincts and a practical, action-oriented mindset.

Preferred

• Coursework or project experience with AI-enabled tools, workflows, or internal tools.

• Familiarity with creative, marketing, product-creation, or GTM workflows, such as tech pack generation or synthetic consumer testing.

• Basic exposure to data pipelines, cloud platforms, or enterprise system integration.

• Experience supporting or shadowing training sessions for non-technical users.

Success Criteria

• Completes assigned prototypes and workflow tasks accurately and on time, under supervision.

• Contributes reusable components to workflows that are adopted across projects.

• Supports business teams in adopting solutions, escalating adoption issues to the pod lead.

• Operates collaboratively and responsibly within the pod, asking for guidance on novel or ambiguous problems.

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
