About this role
Summary
The Aircraft Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and sanitation of aircraft interiors and exteriors. The teammate in this role ensures aircraft are cleaned, serviced, and prepared according to Buckle standards, expectations, and aviation safety regulations. Duties include cabin detailing, exterior cleaning/washing, polishing, and operating specialized cleaning equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Interior Aircraft Cleaning
· Vacuum carpets, entryways, aisles, and seating areas to maintain a clean cabin environment.
· Clean and sanitize passenger seats, tray tables, armrests, and seat pockets.
· Wipe and disinfect interior surfaces, including walls, windows, overhead bins, and partitions.
· Remove trash and replace waste bags throughout the aircraft cabin.
· Clean and sanitize galleys, including countertops, storage compartments, and service areas.
Exterior Aircraft Cleaning
· Clean/wash aircraft fuselage, wings, stabilizers, and landing gear using approved cleaning methods.
· Remove dirt, oil residue, insects, grease, hydraulic fluid, and environmental contaminants.
· Apply approved cleaning chemicals and detergents.
· Polish exterior surfaces to maintain aircraft appearance.
· Clean aircraft windows and other transparent surfaces.
· Assist with aluminum brightening and paint preservation programs.
· Perform belly cleaning/washes.
· Remove ice, snow, and environmental residue when authorized.
· Support corrosion prevention and appearance maintenance programs.
Safety Procedures and Chemical Handling
· Follow all airport, OSHA, and company safety procedures.
· Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) where applicable.
· Maintain awareness of aircraft movement areas and ramp operations.
· Safely handle cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and detergents.
· Follow Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements.
· Store cleaning products according to company guidelines.
Quality Compliance
· Ensure all cleaning activities meet aviation department and customer specifications.
· Report facility hazards to chief pilot and/or airport control.
· Report damages, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns immediately.
Equipment Operation and Documentation
· Operate pressure washers, vacuums, scrubbers, polishers, and other approved cleaning tools.
· Conduct basic inspections of equipment before use.
· Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
· Safely use ladders, platforms, lifts, and access stands.
· Follow fall-protection procedures when working at heights.
· Record supply usage and equipment issues as required.
General
· Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
· Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Relevant aviation or cleaning experience is a plus.
Preferred Certifications
· OSHA Safety Training
· Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) Training
· Lift or Aerial Platform Certification
· Ramp Safety Training

Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated work areas is required. The ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, and weekends is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle and complete errands based on business needs.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an airport hangar environment and airport ramp. Exposure to aircraft noise, various weather conditions, and cleaning chemicals. Fast-paced operational environment with strict deadlines and turnaround requirements.
