About this role
Myers and Stauffer LC is a certified public accounting and health and human services consulting firm serving government-sponsored health care programs. The Analyst Intern will support Medicaid payment methodology projects, analyze large healthcare datasets using tools such as SQL, Alteryx, and PowerBI, and develop actionable recommendations while maintaining accurate documentation and confidentiality.
What you'll do:
- Perform all aspects of a project or work in progress and apply knowledge gained to future projects
- Possess and apply a solid understanding of the work environment; be punctual
- Develop a general understanding of Myers and Stauffer services
- Respond to all inquiries and requests
- Strive to attain goals established by direct supervisors
- Assist in designing and maintaining Medicaid payment methodologies for hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers
- Use SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, or similar tools to analyze large datasets and develop actionable recommendations
- Positive attitude toward self, other professionals, clients, and Myers and Stauffer
- Ability to gain computer proficiency relative to administrative programs, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet research
- Professional in appearance and manner
- Work iteratively by incorporating team feedback, validating assumptions, and refining analyses
- Maintain accurate, organized electronic documentation
What they're looking for:
- Intern must be working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
- Active participation in student organizations and work experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency
- Manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Interest or experience in SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, or large-dataset analysis
- Interest in learning Medicaid concepts
- Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Office suite
