The primary responsibility of this position is web application development for the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division using Microsoft .Net. This includes designing, developing, and maintaining web and desktop applications to support the Department of Revenue's business processes.

  • The salary indicated represents a base pay rate.  If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck.  A pay differential does not raise your base pay. 

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting Department of Revenue (DOR).

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

  • Design, develop and maintain the Department of Revenue web-based applications to enhance the performance and reliability of our current web based object oriented applications within a .NET development environment.  
  • Apply advanced skills, concepts, practices, and procedures to complete several small to medium projects or a complex component of a large project.
  • Develop and maintain interfaces.
  • Develop third party component integrations.
  • Implement the Department of Revenue's custom business functionality. 
  • Coordinate and provide customer and technical support.
  • Participate in team development.

Qualifications - All you need for success

  • Solid technical skills in web application development.
  • Experience in both front-end and back-end technologies that include but not limited to .NET,  JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Web Services, Microsoft SQL, and Scripting Languages.
  • Organized.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Problem solver who can work on a team with multiple developers.
  • Desire to continually develop new skills. 
  • Knowledge and skills in business analysis, quality assurance, and critical thinking.
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.

Knowledge of the core programming language used in the assigned area. Knowledge of computer logic statements and their applications. Ability to learn and apply concepts. Ability to perform basic mathematics. Ability to provide logical and innovative ideas, and think critically to resolve issues. Ability to communicate with staff, management, and agency personnel.
