JOB DESCRIPTION Product Specialist – Manufacturing ERP POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing ERP Product Specialist is responsible for driving business value and operational excellence by evolving ERP capabilities through targeted enhancements, process improvements, and strategic initiatives. The role operates at the intersection of business process expertise, ERP product ownership, and global standardization, enabling continuous improvement and alignment with the organization’s target operating model.

The Product Specialist works closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, support teams, and technical delivery teams to ensure ERP solutions are scalable, standardized, and aligned with regional and global business objectives.

The role supports the following Manufacturing ERP functional areas:

• Production Planning
• Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Routings
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
• Work Orders / Work in Progress (WIP)
• Warehouse Management

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ERP Product Evolution and Enhancement Delivery

• Design, evaluate, and deliver ERP enhancements that improve business processes, operational efficiency, and system capabilities.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, sustainable, and standardized ERP solutions.
• Ensure enhancements align with global ERP strategy, architecture principles, and product roadmaps.
• Partner with Product Owners to define priorities, assess business value, and support roadmap execution.

Global Template Alignment and Process Standardization

• Drive convergence of regional ERP processes toward a common global template.
• Analyze local process variations, configurations, and customizations to identify opportunities for standardization.
• Reduce unnecessary custom solutions by promoting globally supported ERP capabilities.
• Identify and eliminate duplicate, fragmented, or inefficient processes and solutions.
• Support adoption of the target operating model through harmonized ERP processes.

Operational Support and Continuous Improvement

• Provide expert-level functional support for complex, non-standard, or recurring ERP issues.
• Support escalation management for critical incidents and ensure effective resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and convert findings into improvement opportunities and enhancement backlog items.
• Collaborate with support teams to improve application stability, reliability, and user experience.

Knowledge Management and Enablement

• Develop and maintain functional documentation, process guidelines, and solution playbooks.
• Transfer knowledge to Second-Level Support teams to improve operational effectiveness and reduce dependency on specialist support.
• Promote consistent ERP usage through training, guidance, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Application Stability

• Maintain and improve ERP system reliability, performance, and availability.
• Reduce recurring incidents through proactive problem management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Enhancement and Project Delivery

• Deliver enhancements and improvement initiatives within agreed scope, timelines, and budget.
• Ensure solutions meet business requirements while maintaining alignment with global ERP standards.

Strategic Value Contribution

• Maximize contribution toward strategic enhancement, standardization, and ERP convergence initiatives.
• Reduce regional deviations and unnecessary customizations.
• Increase adoption of global ERP capabilities and standardized processes.

 

KEY INTERACTIONS

Product Owner

• Receives ERP product strategy, architectural guidelines, and priority direction.
• Provides functional designs, regional process impacts, and ERP configuration considerations.

Second-Level Support

• Supports critical issue escalation and operational feedback.
• Provides specialist expertise, resolution guidance, and knowledge transfer.

Tech Factory / Delivery Teams

• Aligns delivery priorities across Run, Enhance, and Converge activities.

Business Stakeholders

• Collaborates on business requirements, process improvements, solution validation, and adoption.

 

GOVERNANCE TOUCHPOINTS

Weekly – Enhancement and Demand Review

Prioritize enhancements, review progress, and validate alignment with business priorities.

Bi-Weekly – Second-Level Enablement and Escalation Review

Review escalations, identify knowledge gaps, and define actions to improve support effectiveness.

Monthly – Product Governance and Roadmap Alignment

Align regional initiatives with global ERP strategy and evaluate value delivery.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• 5+ years of experience working with ERP systems through implementation, support, enhancement delivery, or product management roles.
• Demonstrated experience delivering ERP improvements and process standardization across multiple business units or regions.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable ERP solutions.
• Experience supporting global ERP transformation, template deployment, or process harmonization initiatives.

Technical Expertise

• Strong functional knowledge and configuration experience with Oracle E-Business Suite Manufacturing modules.
• Experience supporting Manufacturing ERP processes including Planning, BOM Management, Routings, MRP, Work Orders/WIP, and Warehouse Management.
• Proficiency with ServiceNow for incident management, workflows, and knowledge base management.
• Experience using SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms for documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Understanding of ERP convergence methodologies, global template governance, and standardization practices.
