About this role
Shure is a global manufacturer of professional audio equipment and technologies. The Application Software Engineering Intern assists with developing and testing platform-independent middleware and application software that controls and manages audio products and digital signal processing technologies, while prototyping, documenting, and testing high-quality code under supervision.
What you'll do:
- Implement business logic for operating system independent application software that controls and manages audio products and digital signal processing software
- Prototype application software using technologies such as Typescript, Angular, NodeJS, C++
- Focused on designing, creating, and testing high quality code
- Estimates, organizes, and documents tasks under supervision of mentors
- Performs other duties as assigned
What they're looking for:
- The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students
- This internship will be Remote or Hybrid, based in Niles, IL
- In-process of a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Software Engineering or related field, with a minimum of two years of engineering coursework
- Possess an understanding of key software design principles such as separation of concerns, high cohesion, and low coupling to facilitate reuse and maintainability in software architectures, designs and implementations; ability to decompose large, complex software systems into manageable subsystems with clearly defined interfaces
- Familiar with writing unit tests to ensure high quality code
- Able to apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
- Able to follow standard instructions, practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data
- Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Shure will not sponsor applicants for this position for work visas
- Development experience Javascript/Typescript is a plus
- Development experience with C++ is a plus
- Development experience with Angular is a plus
