Job Overview

As an Army Judge Advocate (a lawyer in the Army), you’ll be responsible for offering legal services to Soldiers, Officers, and the families of Officers. You’ll primarily focus on the areas of criminal law, legal assistance, civil and administrative law, labor and employment law, international and operational law, intelligence law, and contract and fiscal law. You’ll offer legal reviews, ethics opinions, advice to commanders and their staff, and assist Soldiers with legal services.

Requirements

• Be a U.S. citizen by the time you commission as an Officer
• Be under the age of 42
• Have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) Law degree
• Basic Officer Leader Course (or Additional Special Courses/Qualifications)
• Eligible for a Secret Security Clearance
• Medically and Physically Fit
• In Good Moral Standing
