Assistant Finance Director - Fairmont

About the Department

The City of Fairmont is accepting applications for a Assistant Finance Director.

The assistant finance director supports financial operations by preparing budget and audit materials, producing financial and regulatory reports, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supervising utility billing staff. The position works closely with the finance director and Public Utilities Commission. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; 3+ years’ experience in the accounting field (including AR, AP, and payroll work); and at least 1 year’s supervisory experience. Preferred qualifications: 3+ years in governmental finance and experience with utility billing software, comprehensive financial report preparation/auditing, and budget preparation/capital planning.

Successful candidates must also satisfactorily pass criminal background, credit, and driver’s license checks.
