About this role

Department: Law Instruction

Northwestern Pritzker School of Law invites applications for entry-level, tenure-track faculty positions with an expected start date in advance of the 2027-28 academic year.

Northwestern seeks applicants with distinguished academic credentials and a record of, or potential for, high scholarly achievement and excellence in teaching. Positions are full-time appointments on a tenure-track.

Candidates must have a J.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree, a distinguished academic record, and demonstrated potential to produce outstanding scholarship. Northwestern Pritzker School of Law will consider the entry level candidates in the AALS Faculty Appointments Register, as well as through application directly to our Law School. All candidates should submit applications through our online application system, including AALS FAR participants: Apply for Job. Materials required for the online application include a CV, research agenda, teaching evaluations (if available), and law school transcript. Specific inquiries should be addressed to the chair of the Appointments Committee, David Dana ([email protected]) and to the associate director of faculty affairs, Anne Skelley ([email protected]).

The expected base pay range for this position is $200,000 - $230,000. This base pay range is for a twelve-month academic appointment and is subject to negotiation.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
