Assistant Professor -- Sociology

Description

The Department of Sociology at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, to begin Fall 2027. Areas of specialization are Crime, Law, and Justice, Political Sociology, or Economic Sociology, broadly defined. Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching, including teaching in the Core Curriculum (particularly the “Foundations of Social Science"), supporting research, programs, and collaborative projects that drive innovation in research, and service to the department, college, and university.

Qualifications

Applicants must have completed all the requirements for the PhD by time of appointment, or they must expect to obtain the PhD within a year of joining the faculty as Instructor.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position funding is subject to budget availability.
