Assistant to the Director

Prince William Sound College in Valdez, Alaska is seeking a full-time Assistant to the Director who will perform fiscal support, administrative support, event/program coordination, and institutional advancement.

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills across a variety of contexts and formats, along with the ability to apply mathematical reasoning and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to reach sound, informed conclusions. The candidate will be highly organized and capable of coordinating projects and events, while demonstrating proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. The candidate ill have substantial experience working in a professional office environment, with experience supporting higher education academic programs strongly preferred. Experience with grant writing or grant administration is also strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and two years progressively responsible experience related to finance or administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

An unrestricted Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required. 

Position Details:

This position is located on the Prince William Sound College campus in Valdez, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
