Associate Accountant

Abarca Health is hiring an Associate Accountant to support the finance team’s accounting needs. The role handles general accounting, financial and external reporting, accounts payable and disbursements, regulatory filings, audits, and vendor and pharmacy payment issues.

What you'll do:

• You’ll perform general accounting, financial reporting, and external reporting functions for local management
• You’ll oversee all Accounts Payable and disbursements (with the exception of payroll), including expense reports, reimbursements, pharmacy payments and vendor disputes
• Support the Accounts Payables and Reimbursements process
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives
• Support with the preparation and completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings
• Assist with annual external audits
• Coordinate and resolve vendor and pharmacy payment issues

What they're looking for:

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field. (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.)
• 1+ years experience within the accounting field
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• CPA certification is a plus
