Associate Accountant (Supplier Management)

HEB is hiring an Associate Accountant (Supplier Management) to support accounting processes and financial analysis. The role assists with accounting transactions, reporting, reconciliations, performance metrics, process improvements, and special projects.

What you'll do:

• Focus on gaining knowledge and expertise in a targeted accounting area; learn end-to-end processes and accounting transactions
• Build relationships with team and business area by providing accurate accounting transactions and fundamental analysis, reporting and metrics
• Perform / assist with key accounting tasks including journal entries, analysis, reporting, and reconciliations
• Support preparation of reports, graphs, and charts to illustrate and communicate key performance indicators
• Provide interpretation / explanation of business results to management and other stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for process improvements
• Document and communicate changes to assigned processes
• Support ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed

• 0+ years of accounting experience
• No previous professional experience required
• Understanding of accounting functions
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Foundational PC skills (MS Office, software and database skills)
• Fundamental analytical skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to effectively work with all members of team and management
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and management
• Self-directed, motivated, and able to independently accomplish results with some supervision
• Bachelor's Degree or role-relevant experience
