Associate Accounting Specialist

North Risk Partners is hiring an Associate Accounting Specialist to support its accounting department, focusing primarily on direct bill responsibilities, department procedures, and general accounting functions. The role assists Accounting Specialists with daily tasks and projects, with increasing responsibility toward independently handling department projects and procedures.

What you'll do:

• Responsible for general accounting functions:
• Support Account Managers with client balances
• Prepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet schedules and ledgers
• Work under the direction of Accounting Specialists to:
• Process North Risk Partners insurance company direct bill commission statements
• Reconcile and process carrier agency bill statements
• Collect customer accounts receivable
• Complete year-end closings process
• Process employee expense reports
• Process cash receipts
• Pay vendor bills based upon approved authorization matrix
• Provide information and support during the audit process

What they're looking for:

• A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school degree, bachelor's degree, or associate's degree (Accounting degree preferred) and general knowledge of finance principles
• General knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation
• Demonstrated technical accounting skills
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, demonstrating ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information
• Accounting degree preferred
