Position Summary
The Associate Director for Greek Life is an integral member of the Greek Life Office and reports to the Director for Greek Life. This position provides leadership for key departmental operations, programs, and services, including Panhellenic Council advisement, leadership education, assessment and continuous improvement, student wellbeing initiatives, and crisis and community response. The Associate Director serves as the primary advisor to the Panhellenic Council and provides oversight for major programs and resources associated with the council, including recruitment and educational initiatives.
The Associate Director supervises professional and graduate staff and provides leadership and direction for the office in the absence of the Director. In collaboration with students, staff, alumni, national organizations, campus partners, and other stakeholders, the position exercises independent judgment in addressing complex operational, programmatic, and student-related matters that impact the Greek Life community.

- Knowledge of fraternity and sorority life programs, practices, organizational structures, and student organization advisement within a higher education environment.
- Ability to effectively advise and support students, student leaders, governing councils, and student organizations.

- Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and make independent decisions in complex, sensitive, or time-sensitive situations.

Duties/Responsibilities
Panhellenic Advisement & Program Leadership:
- Serve as the primary advisor to the Panhellenic Council, Panhellenic Council Executive Board, and 20 nationally affiliated women’s fraternities representing more than 6,000 undergraduate students.
- Provide guidance and support to Panhellenic student leaders and chapters in areas including leadership development, chapter development, membership recruitment, new member education, scholarship, risk reduction, hazing prevention, wellbeing, and other matters impacting the Panhellenic community.
- Lead the planning and implementation of the Panhellenic recruitment program for more than 2,000 potential new members, including registration, scheduling, recruitment processes, and associated technology systems.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training and development program for more than 120 Panhellenic recruitment counselors.
- Provide fiscal oversight for Panhellenic recruitment and educational program budgets totaling approximately $500,000 annually and administer resources in accordance with applicable University financial, procurement, and contracting procedures.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with chapter advisors, house corporation boards, house directors, alumni, inter/national organizations, and campus and community partners to support chapter and community success.
- Serve as a liaison among house corporation boards, house directors, student leaders, and the Greek Life Office regarding programs and matters affecting housed Panhellenic organizations.
- Maintain and analyze recruitment statistics, chapter rosters, academic information, and other relevant data to inform decision-making, planning, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare reports and communicate relevant information to University stakeholders, chapters, inter/national organizations, alumni, and other appropriate constituencies.
- Exercise independent professional judgment in responding to significant concerns affecting Panhellenic organizations and make referrals to appropriate University offices or other authorities when necessary.

- Provide leadership and direction for assigned Greek Life Office programs, services, and operations and represent the department and Director in the Director’s absence.
- Directly supervise the Coordinator for Greek Life, Administrative Services Manager, and other assigned professional and graduate staff.
- Establish performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and support the professional development of assigned staff.
- Actively promote and participate in the development, retention & engagement of each staff member.
- Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to assigned professional and graduate staff.
- Establish priorities, delegate responsibilities, and coordinate work across assigned areas to support effective and efficient departmental operations.
- Exercise independent professional judgment regarding assigned programs and services and elevate or refer matters to the Director, appropriate University offices, or other authorities as necessary.
- Interpret and implement Greek Life Office policies and procedures within assigned areas of responsibility and assist with the development and implementation of departmental procedures as appropriate.

- Learning, Assessment & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead the assessment and continuous improvement cycle for Greek Life Office programs and services to evaluate effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and support departmental decision-making.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to fraternity and sorority life programs, services, and student experiences to identify trends and inform departmental priorities.
- Develop reports and presentations that communicate assessment findings, outcomes, and recommendations to departmental staff, University leadership, students, and other appropriate stakeholders.
- provide leadership and support for the planning, implementation, and assessment of educational programs and leadership development initiatives offered by the Greek Life Office.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing review of the Standards of Excellence program and Greek Life Awards Program.
- Oversee University-approved experiential learning opportunities associated with Greek Life, including assessment of existing opportunities and identification and development of new opportunities aligned with departmental and divisional priorities.

UGA Miracle Advisement & Student Wellbeing:
- Serve as an advisor to UGA Miracle and provide direction and support to student leadership in the planning and execution of fundraising and organizational initiatives, including Beyond Zero, Ring The Bell, Presidents’ Day, and the annual Dance Marathon.
- Advise UGA Miracle student leaders on organizational planning, leadership development, program implementation, and execution of major initiatives.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and professional development to the UGA Miracle Graduate Assistant.
- Support adherence to the University’s Policy for Programs and Activities Serving Minors, including program registration, required training, distribution of the Code of Conduct, applicable forms and waivers, and other applicable program requirements.
- Provide leadership for assigned student wellbeing initiatives, including departmental alcohol and other drug prevention education in partnership with University Health Promotion and Student Care & Outreach.
- Provide operational leadership, in consultation with the Panhellenic Council and campus partners, for the UGA Student Food Pantry, including coordination and sharing of relevant data with Student Care & Outreach.
- Facilitate the identification, recruitment, training, and development of session leaders for the Body Talks program in partnership with Student Care & Outreach.

Crisis & Community Response, Development & Stewardship:
- Participate in the department’s after-hours response structure and independently respond to crises, conduct, behavioral, and other significant concerns affecting students, chapters, and the Greek Life community.
- Exercise independent professional judgment in assessing concerns, determining appropriate immediate actions, and making referrals to University Police, the Office of Student Conduct, the Office of the Dean of Students, the Equal Opportunity Office, and other appropriate University or community resources.
- Coordinate with campus partners, including Student Care & Outreach and Counseling and Psychological Services, to support chapter leadership, advisors, and members experiencing significant concerns.
- Communicate significant incidents and emerging concerns to the Director and other appropriate staff and coordinate departmental follow-up as necessary.
- Coordinate the scholarship distribution and stewardship process for assigned Greek Life scholarships supported through Student Affairs Development.
- Support the identification, cultivation, and engagement of prospective donors and alumni, with particular emphasis on relationships connected to the Panhellenic community.
- Collaborate with Student Affairs Development and departmental leadership in support of strategic fundraising and development priorities and participate in donor cultivation and stewardship activities as appropriate.
