About this role
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates a large transportation network serving the New York metropolitan region and surrounding areas. The Associate IT Portfolio/Project Analyst supports product management, service development, business analysis, requirements translation, reporting, testing, and collaboration with technical and business teams. The role also assists with process improvement, product documentation, agile ceremonies, resource coordination, and vendor-related activities.
What you'll do:
- Under direct supervision, manages specific components and assigned tasks within the product management and/or service development process
- Translates business requirements to technical requirements for developers to understand
- Assists with the development of user stories with traceability to source
- May assist with the analysis of business operations to identify process improvement opportunities, and the modeling of current and desired scenarios using defined models, methods, and tools
- Maintains and runs reports to evaluate value realization against product, risk management, service, or project goals and objectives
- Assists the testing team with development of test cases based on the requirements
- Assists with the delivery and collection of organizational assessments
- Participates in product demos and testing and attends industry presentations
- Assists or performs product demonstrations
- Supports the development of service/product descriptions and helps maintain service/product catalogs and documentation
- Assists with the execution of resourcing activities in collaboration with delivery team managers
- Researches market trends and customer behavior that will help contribute to feature development and operations improvements
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Expert experience with common developer productivity tools like Jira, Confluence, etc
- Capable of understanding technical concepts
- Capable of process-focused execution, having successfully driven technical programs for enterprise products in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of working with enterprise customers
- Capable of working with project management tools and workflows
- Capable of customer journey management
- Familiarity with product delivery
- Familiarity with business analysis or project management
- Familiarity with all phases of the business application development lifecycle
Benefits:
- This position is eligible for teleworking, which is currently 2 days per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.
