About this role

CFSB is a federally chartered bank providing banking and financial services. The Associate KYC Operations Analyst supports KYC and Customer Due Diligence activities across settlement services, card programs, and retail banking by reviewing customer information, identifying risks, maintaining documentation, and supporting BSA/AML compliance operations.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in the review of KYC onboarding packages for settlement services, card, and retail banking customers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Perform initial and ongoing due diligence reviews, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for higher-risk customers, as required
  • Analyze customer information, ownership structures, and supporting documentation to identify potential risk indicators
  • Document findings clearly and consistently, ensuring alignment with KYC procedures, regulatory expectations, and audit standards
  • Maintain high-quality KYC files and supporting documentation to support regulatory exams and internal reviews
  • Conduct watchlist, sanctions, and adverse media screening in accordance with established procedures
  • Identify and document potential AML risk factors, typologies, and red flags, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Support program changes for existing customers across assigned business lines
  • Assist with data validation and remediation efforts as needed
  • Follow established KYC procedures and contribute feedback to support continuous improvement of workflows and controls
  • Assist with quality control activities to ensure KYC reviews meet internal standards and regulatory expectations
  • Escalate identified risks, data gaps, or documentation deficiencies to senior analysts or management with clear summaries and recommendations

What they're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or related field is required
  • 0–2 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or related fields; internships in financial services or fintech are a plus
  • Basic understanding of compliance and risk management principles, with a desire to learn
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, be self-sufficient, and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
