Annual Salary: $46,446.48 to $55,000 

Location: Truman Building - 301 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO. 

This position is in-seat 5 days a week. Remote work is not available.

HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:
This Associate Research Data Analyst position within the Motor Vehicle and Driver Licensing Division strengthens the connection between operational processes and data analytics. The role focuses on uncovering and communicating data‑driven insights that empower leaders to make informed, strategic decisions. This position offers opportunities for professional development, growth, and meaningful impact across the Division.

 

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

  • Assist with data analytics initiatives and project support across the Department.
  • Maintain Reporting Application and oversee access for Division staff.
  • Develop, update, and maintain Tableau Dashboards.
  • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze Division data using Excel and Tableau; develop visualizations, dashboards, and summaries that highlight meaningful trends and actionable insights for leadership.
  • Continuously enhance dashboards and workflows by integrating key performance measures and introducing innovative visualization methods.
  • Identify and recommend process efficiencies by leveraging data insights to bridge gaps between analytics and operational activities.
  • Prepare clear, well‑structured reports and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Division team members to understand, document, and improve business processes.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Division to support ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Work independently with initiative, curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - All you need for success

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1–3 years of hands‑on Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep experience and/or relevant certification.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced calculations and data preparation methods.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and experience transforming raw data into actionable insights.
  • Highly organized with a methodical approach to problem‑solving and project management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the Department.
  • A proactive, motivated, “go‑getter” approach, with the ability to work independently for extended periods.
