About this role
KPMG US is a leading provider of audit, tax, and advisory services. They are seeking an Associate, Software Engineer to join their Ignition Tax Product practice, where the role involves designing and developing software applications to support M&A Tax client engagements and internal operations.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications and GenAI-enabled tools that support internal operations and external M&A Tax client engagements
- Collaborate effectively with Senior Software Engineers, M&A Tax professionals, and Ignition developers to translate business requirements into scalable data and software solutions
- Utilize Microsoft Fabric and other cloud-based data technologies to manage, process, and analyze complex datasets supporting M&A Tax strategic initiatives
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including writing clean, well-tested code, debugging, and deploying high-quality technical solutions
- Support the integration of AI models, workflow automation, and advanced analytics into existing tax platforms and everyday workflows
- Contribute to technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and help continuously improve the team's modern software engineering and agile practices
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
What they're looking for:
- Minimum one year of recent full-time experience in software engineering, full-stack development, data engineering, or a related technical role
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, information technology, or an equivalent field is required
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or JavaScript, along with solid experience in database design (SQL/NoSQL) and API development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical team members and non-technical tax professionals
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (for example, Data Engineering, Data Factory, Synapse) for end-to-end analytics and integration
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure preferred), containerization, and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git)
