Associate Tech Fellow

As the Associate Tech Fellow, you will help shape Best Buy's technology direction across teams, businesses, and locations. You will bring deep technical knowledge and business insight to major architecture decisions, while helping teams build solutions that support long-term goals. Your work will include setting technical direction, reviewing new designs, and advising leaders and engineers. You will be a trusted technology advisor who connects ideas across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure. 

What you’ll do 

• Create technology patterns and roadmaps that guide current and future capabilities
• Review proposed architectures and provide direction through the Enterprise Architecture Review Board
• Work with engineering and product teams to create standards, models, and reference architectures
• Partner with technology suppliers and business teams on strategic technology plans
• Coach engineers and guide architecture decisions during implementation
• Bring forward new technology approaches and help teams apply them effectively

Basic qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of relevant technology experience
• Experience across application, data, integration, and infrastructure architecture
• Experience providing technical guidance to business and technology teams

Preferred qualifications 

• 12+ years of directly related experience
• Advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of interdisciplinary experience at Best Buy
• Experience representing an organization with technology partners or industry groups
