The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is recruiting full-time faculty members at the Assistant Professor level in the appointment (non-tenure) stream. The qualified applicant will be actively involved in patient care; medical student, resident, and fellow teaching; and orthopaedic research as determined by the Chair and associated division chief.

  • Foot and Ankle Surgery
  • General Orthopaedics
  • Hand and Upper Extremity
  • Pediatric Orthopaedics
  • Podiatry
  • Primary Care Sports Medicine
  • Spine Surgery
  • Sports Medicine
  • Trauma

Qualifications: 

  • A medical degree from an accredited medical school;
  • Completion of an accredited orthopedic residency training program;
  • Completion of an accredited trauma fellowship program;
  • Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania;
  • Board-eligible or Board-certification in orthopedic surgery.

Qualified physician applicants must meet the minimum position credentials for the orthopaedic specialty to provide clinical service. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest and ability in clinical care and teaching, and possess strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills. A record of scholarly publications and presentations, along with evidence of interest in and involvement in research, is expected. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (0–5 years of experience).
