Reports to a Deputy General Counsel. Responsible for providing legal advice regarding the laws, regulations, and industry standards that affect nonappropriated fund business operations to include procurement, contract negotiations and review, contract claim litigation, franchise agreements, food services, environmental, tax, telecommunications, banking, information technology, e-commerce, real estate and intellectual property issues.

Job Qualifications
Professional law degree (Juris Doctorate/JD) from a recognized and accredited law school. Member of the bar of the highest court of a state or the District of Columbia. Five years of strategic business legal experience as a licensed and practicing attorney.

Major Duties
Provides guidance to internal stakeholders throughout the organization as needed using specialized knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Department of Defense guidance/directives. May serve as a point of contact with various entities representing the Exchange in various settings (e.g., Department of Justice, Army Legal Services).
Analyzes established legislation, prepares legal documents, reviews agency policies, and advises management on legal matters.
Practices preventive law which may include developing and conducting educational sessions regarding prevention of litigation and recommends changes to policy.
Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Provides analysis of current and proposed laws and policy and provides counsel to leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned.
