About this role

## Position Summary The Audience Intelligence team provides KQED with the data needed to make data-informed decisions. It serves as the central data hub for the organization and works with departments including news, science, arts, marketing, foundations, and audience development. The Audience Intelligence intern will mine data sets for insights, automate processes, facilitate predictive analytics, and support research. The intern will also lead a project and complete the internship with a deliverable that can be used in a future job search. This role requires working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and in the field. ## Essential Functions - Help develop new insights and analyses that inform organizational decisions and help KQED continue to engage its audiences. - Support research projects by aggregating and analyzing data. - Execute quantitative analyses that translate data into actionable insights. - Build visualizations that expose the health and performance of KQED products. - Build presentations for a variety of stakeholders. - Perform other duties as assigned. ## Knowledge and Experience Required - Intellectual curiosity for data-driven products. - Experience with data analysis and/or visualization. - Excellent writing, research, and communication skills. - Strong attention to detail. - Problem-solving acumen. - Capacity to balance multiple responsibilities. - Ability to work independently. - At least some knowledge of SQL. ## Knowledge and Experience Desired - Knowledge of Python or another programming language, dashboarding tools such as Looker or Tableau, ETL tools, or databases is a bonus. ## Growth and Development Opportunities Audience Intelligence interns have a substantial impact on the team's work and are full-fledged team members whose life experience, opinions, and ideas bring valuable fresh approaches. KQED is committed to supporting specific learning goals related to audience intelligence. ## Internship Details This is a paid internship working 16 hours per week from Tuesday, January 19, 2027, through Friday, June 25, 2027.
