The Audio-Visual Technician at Bismarck Event Center strives to provide excellent guest service by setting up audiovisual equipment as directed. The Audio-Visual Technician will also set up and strike various audiovisual equipment and components for events. The role acts as a dedicated Audio-Visual Technician for events when needed, operating multiple components, including lights, mixer board, slides, and videos.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $19.00 - $25.00.

Located in the heart of Bismarck, the Bismarck Event Center is the region’s premier destination for live entertainment, conventions, meetings, sporting events, and community gatherings.   • Set up, operate, and tear down all audiovisual equipment in-house.
  • Maintain proper working conditions for audio/visual equipment both physically and digitally.
  • Maintain inventory of audio/visual equipment and storage areas.
  • Troubleshoot audio and visual equipment.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor for further assessment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Perform job duties with minimal supervision.
  • Frequent bending, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, lifting heavy objects, sitting, exposure to moderate to loud environments, and moderate walking throughout the building.
  • Other production duties as needed.
  • Previous experience in AV installation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of common audio, video, and lighting equipment.
  • Able to work event-driven extended hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects frequently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and punctuality.
  • Must be a creative and proactive problem solver.
  • Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office suite, is required.
