About this role
Garver is an engineering, planning, and environmental services firm focused on aviation and other infrastructure services. The Aviation Electrical Project Engineer will receive training in aviation electrical engineering design and develop airport electrical plans, specifications, calculations, and related project documentation. The role also involves coordination with project teams and agencies, cost estimating, quality assurance, travel for field assessments, and construction support.
What you'll do:
- Working with the aviation civil team and your electrical team to develop detailed design and specification documents for airports, including one-line (single line) diagrams, power plans, lighting plans, and required design calculations
- Coordinating with other support discipline activities on projects, coordinating with regional Garver offices and regulating agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control
- Some regional travel may be required as projects may require field work for site assessment of project locations and support during construction. Occasionally this travel may involve overnight stays. Regional travel is estimated at 5-10% of time, however if desired there will be opportunities to provide full-time or extensive part-time observation early in your career to provide accelerated hands-on learning and provide a grounding for your design work
- As responsibilities grow, this engineer will have the opportunity to work on airports throughout Garver’s service area. The engineer also could perform onsite construction observation duties, construction administration and submittal reviews for projects under construction
What they're looking for:
