Avionics Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Rendezvous Robotics is developing modular spacecraft components that use electromagnetic self-assembly to enable larger and more capable spacecraft. The Avionics Engineering Intern will support power electronics, PCB design, power-system analysis, power distribution architecture, and bench testing and debugging of avionics hardware.

What you'll do:

• Support design and review of power electronics, including battery management and protection circuits
• Work on PCB design for onboard electronics
• Help analyze cross-domain fault behavior and edge cases in the power system
• Support power distribution and bus architecture work across internal interfaces
• Assist with bring-up and debug of avionics hardware on the bench

What they're looking for:

• * Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• * Coursework or project experience in power electronics or analog/digital circuit design
• * Familiarity with PCB design tools (KiCad, Altium, or similar)
• To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
• * Experience with gate drivers, DC-DC converters, or battery management systems
• * Understanding of isolated sensing or isolated power architectures
• * Exposure to embedded firmware for hardware bring-up
• * Experience debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other bench equipment
