BANQUET SERVER (PART-TIME, YEAR-ROUND)

Status: Part-Time, Year-Round

Job Summary: The Monument is seeking personable, professional, and energetic Banquet Server to join our team. As a Banquet Server, you’ll help bring events to life by providing warm, attentive service at banquets, meetings, and special functions. From setting up tables to serving meals and clearing afterward, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring guests enjoy seamless and memorable experiences. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare event spaces by setting tables, arranging décor, placing condiments, and ensuring all utensils and service ware are properly placed.
• Serve meals and beverages efficiently, maintaining synchronization with kitchen and bar timing
• Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs by replenishing drinks, clearing used items, and responding to special requests.
• Clear tables, reset spaces, and assist with event teardown and cleanup.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety by following all sanitation and alcohol service policies.
• Provide prompt, friendly, and enthusiastic service to enhance the guest dining experience.
• May be asked to support additional food and beverage operations, including catering, concessions, and bar service, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must me at least 14 years of age or older required.
• Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a positive and professional attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules and compliance with South Dakota Labor Laws.

Work Environment:

• Duties are performed in fast-paced work environment (bar, banquet, and concession areas) both indoor and outside with exposure to high levels of noise and large crowds.
• Standing and walking for long periods of time, including navigating stairs or ramps.
• Occasional contact with outdoor elements near entrances or exterior areas.
• Exposure to flashing lights, amplified sound, theatrical effects, and pyrotechnics during certain performances or events. 
• Ability to consistently lift up to 25 lbs.
