About this role
Position Summary - Pay Range $16.90 - $18.50/hour
The Bartender is responsible for providing the highest quality service to guests and servers and maintaining the Hotel standards of cleanliness and sanitation while following the requirements at the Bar.
Essential Functions
- Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
- Must participate in all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
- Set up the bar according to hotel/bar standards and ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
- Have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in applicable outlets.
- Must be able to create various seasonal cocktails and be able to recommend them to various guests.
- Service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Pre-bus all tables removing soiled dishes after each course.
- Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S system.
- Perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to established checklist.
- Breakdown trays of soiled dishes and linen in the designated areas.
- Consistently upsell food, beverage and promotional items to guests.
- Receive and deliver food and beverage orders and collect payment.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
- Follow all state liquor laws.
- Follow prescribed procedures in serving alcohol to intoxicated guests.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
- Experience in bartending is required.
- In compliance with California laws, Responsible Beverage Service and Food Handlers Certification are required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- The scope of the position may sometimes require a work week over 40 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time during customary service hours.
- Must be able to bend, stoop or reach as needed.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry 30 pounds.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds with assistance.
