The Boards and Commissions Division oversees the administration of 28 professional and occupational licensing boards and commissions, and approximately 100,000 individual licenses ranging from dentists and social workers to real estate brokers and cosmetologists. This position is located within the Divisions Health Licensing Bureau, based out of the Department's Santa Fe office.
Each board and commission has its own set of rules and its own licensing requirements. The Governor of New Mexico appoints members to boards and commissions who work closely with the Superintendent of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department to protect consumer rights while promoting good business practices and economic growth.
Here at RLD, you will find growth, purpose and the chance to leave your mark on one of New Mexico's most influential agencies.
RLD participates in E-Verify and will verify employment upon hire.
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
Why does the job exist?
The Board Administrator works closely with other areas of the Division, including legal counsel, compliance and investigative staff, and maintains awareness of activities involving assigned boards and related professions. This position also works with state government contacts outside of the Division, including assigned attorneys from the New Mexico Department of Justice and staff from the State Records Center and Archives, as well as external entities and organizations that are associated with our regulated professions.
How does it get done?
This position may serve as the primary staff contact for one or more health licensing boards administratively attached to the Division, and act as a trusted advisor to professional and public members appointed by the Governor to the board, facilitating regular public meetings, rule hearings, and ensuring that public business of the board is tracked and executed timely.
The Board Administrator and various staff members will work with at least two licensing boards, ranging from the Massage Therapy Board, Nursing Home Administrators Board, and the Nutrition and Dietetics Practice Board. This position will also work closely with the Team Manager to monitor the Team's licensing process, audit licensing activity, and assist in training other staff regarding licensing requirements and procedures.
Must be able to operate a provided state vehicle for purposes of essential travel to/from locations as necessary to carry out the duties of the position.
Here at RLD, integrity meets innovation. We bring together bold thinkers, problem-solvers, and dedicated professionals who believe in making a difference.
