DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports building operations by maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting automated control systems and mechanical equipment. The work focuses on ensuring safe facility conditions, accurate system performance, and proper responses to equipment issues. As a Building Automation Systems Technician 1, you will perform the following duties:
- System Inspection: Review building automation systems (BAS) alarms, check equipment, identify issues, and complete approved repairs
- HVAC Diagnostics: Navigate BAS platforms to troubleshoot performance concerns and recommend adjustments
- Pneumatic Maintenance: Replace valves, calibrate components, and validate device operation following procedures
- DDC Servicing: Install sensors, repair actuators, resolve hardware and software problems, and verify system function
- Energy Monitoring: Analyze system trends, adjust schedules, and confirm end device responses for efficiency
- Technical Support: Assist staff and contractors by reviewing data, testing equipment, and explaining system operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician Trainee (commonwealth title) training program; or
- Three years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC, refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems which includes one year working with industrial or commercial electronic controls and sensors; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with industrial or commercial electronic controls and sensors.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- One year of experience and familiarity with BA System Software
- One year of experience of the methods, practices, and materials involved in the repair, operation, and maintenance of equipment controlled by BA systems
- One year experience of analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving BA system and device malfunctions and failures
