Business Analyst

Coforma is a growing digital services company seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to join their Product Management practice. The role involves working on an agile project team to connect team members to contract objectives and ensure business needs are translated into actionable tasks for improved outcomes.

What you'll do:

• Partner with business stakeholders and the internal Engineering team to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
• Assist in creating release notes and maintaining project and implementation documentation, requirements artifacts, process flows, and user guides to ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Support the Product Manager/Product Owner in managing the product backlog and help ensure delivered functionality meets documented business requirements
• Identify process improvements and recommend solutions that align with modernization objectives
• Complete new hire orientation training and meet with external counterparts and stakeholders across the org
• Identify and meet with key federal partners, leads, and internal cross-functional peers to understand their pain points and expectations
• Become familiar with recurring processes, workflows, and stakeholder/business requirements
• Take ownership of tasks such as developing and maintaining documentation, process and user guides, etc
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, etc
• Begin supporting the Product Manager/Owner in managing the product backlog

What they're looking for:

• Full-time resident of the contiguous United States (must be legally authorized to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorship)
• Ability to pass a Public Trust background check and any applicable background and/or security checks related to project requirements
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a Business/Product/Systems Analyst role
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience defining data and business process requirements and able to break down large, complex problems into actionable, testable steps
• Understanding of the principles, theories, and concepts of Agile software development life cycle
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written and verbal and/or with the use of assistive tech as needed) with strong technical writing skills
• Excellent time management and organization skills and the ability to effectively adapt to changing timelines and requirements as needed
• Current or prior employment (within the last 6 months) with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) strongly preferred
• Prior professional services or federal govcon experience
• Experience using JIRA or other project management tracking tools
• Experience in data analytics is a plus
