About this role
James White Construction, LLC is a construction company seeking a Business Development & Market Intelligence Analyst to support its growth strategy. The role identifies early-stage site-development opportunities, monitors public and industry activity, manages business-development relationships and pipelines, coordinates meetings and events, and analyzes market intelligence.
What you'll do:
- Promote and enforce JWC principles – God, Family, Empathy, Pride, Honor, Integrity, Safety, Accountability, Quality and Teamwork
- Monitor city, county, planning commission, zoning, design review, utility, and other relevant public meetings for potential site-development opportunities
- Review agendas, minutes, rezoning requests, development applications, planning documents, permits, and other public information to identify future projects
- Attend selected government hearings and meetings and provide concise summaries of relevant projects, developers, engineers, contractors, timelines, and next steps
- Research potential developments and identify the key decision-makers associated with each opportunity
- Maintain a forward-looking BD opportunity pipeline from early intelligence through bid opportunity and award
- Help identify opportunities before plans are issued for bidding
- Track developers, general contractors, engineers, owners, municipalities, and other strategic relationships
- Coordinate and schedule customer meetings, lunches, dinners, and other BD activities
- Maintain a centralized BD calendar so leadership can see upcoming meetings, events, hearings, follow-ups, and relationship opportunities
- Prepare leadership before meetings with short background briefs on the company, individuals, active projects, previous interactions, and desired outcome of the meeting
- Document meetings and ensure follow-up items are assigned and completed
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Experience in business development support, market research, project coordination, or a related role
- Demonstrated ability to research public records, meeting agendas, development applications, and other sources; verify information; and summarize findings into actionable project leads
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate contact records, track opportunities, coordinate meetings, and manage multiple deadlines and follow-up items
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn and maintain a CRM or similar opportunity-tracking system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise reports and meeting briefs and interact professionally with customers, public officials, and industry contacts
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and handle confidential business information with discretion
