Business Systems Analyst I-III (Depending on Experience)

Grant County Public Utility District is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support the analysis, design, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise technology solutions. This role involves collaborating with business and technology teams to understand business needs, improve processes, and deliver effective technology solutions.

What you'll do:

• Effectively collaborates with business users to understand their needs, requirements, and capability gaps, and supports the implementation or development of solutions to increase work efficiency and capabilities
• Develops working knowledge of support systems to provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise on the supported systems and can articulate system capabilities, dependencies, and constraints
• Collaborates with business and technology teams to accomplish successful delivery of Technology projects
• Facilitates communications on process changes, enhancements, and modifications to ensure issues and solutions are agreed to and understood
• Participates in project teams by performing assigned with business process modeling, requirements analysis, solution wireframing, functional specification development, and various other quality assurance and control tasks
• Develops or supports test plans, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria; coordinators testing activities and leads user acceptance testing for assigned system changes during implementation and release cycles
• Supports multiple projects and initiatives concurrently while meeting assigned deadlines and deliverables
• Participates in technology reviews for solution options, identify risks, and recommend improvements to technology capabilities and business processes
• Identifies, recommends, and implements improvement opportunities within assigned systems, processes, and work practices

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree OR two (2) additional years' experience in lieu of degree
• One (1) year of experience in analytical, data management, reporting, contract administration, compliance, financial tracking, or other directly related business experience
• Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or other related technical degree, or two (2) additional years of relevant analysis experience in lieu of degree
• Three (3) years' experience in a computer technology team in business systems analyst, data analyst, user application support, test, or development role
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related technical degree, or two (2) additional years of relevant analysis experience in lieu of degree
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a computer technology environment as a business systems analyst, systems analyst, data analyst, user application support, software test, or development role
• Effective communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate with business and technology stakeholders
• Knowledge of business systems analysis, business process improvement, and software development concepts, including the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Ability to analyze business needs, evaluate alternatives, and develop technology solution recommendations
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments and projects while building effective working relationships with users, project teams, vendors, and stakeholders
• Commitment to continuous improvement, customer service, and learning new technologies
• Experience working in a utilities' computer environment
