Business Unit/Role Specific Information
US Consumer Services (USCS): This team is responsible for American Express’ suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, and outstanding marketing programs. The team’s strategy is to build a strong premium Card business differentiated by Membership, which is brought to life by connecting our Card Members to what they love. The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day.
Responsibilities
How will you make an impact in this role?
The specific job responsibilities will depend on the team you are selected to work on for a summer internship role. Broadly the role may entail some of the below responsibilities:
- Assist team in management of product and marketing strategy.
- Analyze data and propose growth opportunities to help businesses improve performance and drive growth.
- Understand how our business functions and how it might best be served using new and emerging digital products and/or services.
- Build and track performance indicators to better understand customer behavior.
- Develop cost-benefit analyses to determine feasibility of new opportunities.
- Develop relationships with a variety of internal and external partners.
- Share and leverage best practices and provide consultancy to team.
- Manage end-to-end marketing initiatives or other customer-focused initiatives; develop and implement tests to measure effectiveness.
- Find innovative ways to improve customer experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program specializing in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Economics or related business field.
- Bachelor’s degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for customer marketing, product management, payments innovation, travel and dining industries and new technology trends.
- Ability to conceptualize and sell ideas.
- Independent thinker who’s organized, has excellent attention to detail, and can multi-task.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving/quantitative skills.
- Willing to take risks and share fresh perspectives.
- Be proficient with analytical and presentation tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
