About this role
Schaeffler is seeking a Category Management Purchasing Intern to support their electronic purchasing team. This hands-on role involves managing supplier interactions, sourcing activities, and category data, providing practical experience in procurement processes.
What you'll do:
- Support the Category Management Electronic Purchasing team in both daily operations and strategic initiatives
- Coordinate and schedule business meetings with electronic suppliers to ensure effective communication and alignment
- Lead the planning and coordination of key supplier roadmap reviews and tech day set up
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain pricing, cost models, and sourcing documentation
- Support Request for Information (RFI) activities and project quotation processes
- Assist with Request for Quotation (RFQ) execution and support end-to-end sourcing processes
- Maintain and continuously improve category reports, dashboards, and databases to ensure data accuracy and usability
- Assist in the development of presentations and management materials to support purchasing decisions
- Conduct research and analysis on market trends, commodity developments, and potential supply risks
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function to enhance efficiency and performance
- Support tariff mitigation activities and related reporting requirements
- Assist in advancing supply chain resiliency initiatives to strengthen risk management and continuity
What they're looking for:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Soft skills: exceptional organization, a 'proactive' mindset, and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
- Technical skills: proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
