Position Description

Pay Grade: Professional 4

This position manages the enrollment and academic advising for the Career and College Promise program to facilitate the development of students entering and progressing through CCP pathways and into academic programs of study.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

*Coordinate enrollment management for the Career and College Promise program
 
*Coordinate program metrics reporting and produce reports on annual, monthly, weekly and term basis
 
*Assess student data such as RISE/NROC, NCDaP, Accuplacer, SAT, ACT and other scores and reviews transcripts from high school, post-secondary institutions and other relative documentation as needed in order to determine admissions and/or course-level placement
 
*Inform and advise students for selection of programs and courses, assist in developing an academic plan, recommend course work relevant to the academic plan, discuss enrollment policies and procedures, and answer specific inquiries
 
*Provide students with academic success strategies, information about specific areas of study, and general knowledge of college and program requirements to facilitate a successful transition to college, foster retention and promote completion of college credentials
 
*Manage, monitor, document and track academic progress of Career and College Promise students using student success/early warning software
 
Assist with evaluating and monitoring processes and procedures of the Career and College Promise program to ensure compliance
 
Participate in the development and presentation of workshops and other activities focused on transition to college, student success and retention
 
Utilize technology to effectively monitor student progression toward credential completion and to record student interactions
 
Deliver timely and accurate information to students about resources and services available such as disability support and academic success centers
 
Respond in a timely and professional manner to enrollment and CCP program inquiries
 
Assist with Career and College Promise New Student Orientation and other student onboarding events
 
Assist with development of programming and outreach for Career and College Promise
 
Assist with conducting information and registration sessions for Career and College Promise students; perform CCP student registration
 
Works closely with recruitment and outreach officers to provide information about Career and College Promise and transition to post-secondary
Enrollment
 
Assists with special projects and duties for admissions and outreach and others as directed

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 
MS office experience
 
Ability to work weekends and evening as needed
 
Excellent communication skills, including listening, writing and speaking
 
Effective collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
 
Excellent customer service skills
 
Ability to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
 
Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
 
Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
 
Ability to travel daily within Wake County between campuses and community sites
 
Minimum Requirements:
 
Bachelor's degree
 
One year of professional experience counseling/advising students in an educational setting
  
Preferences:
 
Admissions experience at a post-secondary institution
