Description of Job

The salary range for this position is:
$34.74 - $49.18 Hourly
$2,779.38 - $3,934.54 Biweekly
$6,022.00 - $8,524.83 Monthly 

This position exists to serve as a team lead and subject matter expert for a team of Overpayment Specialists in the Overpayments & Recovery (OPR) unit within the FAMLI Division. Position reports to the Collections & Debt Management Supervisor and assists the supervisor to assign, schedule, and prioritize work activities and assists to evaluate and monitor the unit’s work performance. As a work leader and core knowledge subject matter expert, this position imparts advanced knowledge, assists with escalations, seeks and provides technical guidance, and policy direction to the Overpayment Specialists on their assigned team as well as shares knowledge with peers, supervisors and FAMLI management.  

The position ensures that the unit activities are being administered within program guidelines and requirements, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and/or standards. Maintains acceptable levels of performance and assures adequacy of documentation, evidence and reasoning applied to cases assigned to the work unit. Assists with integration, creation, and assimilation of new or modified policies, practices, or procedures into daily routines. This position provides team lead support in order to collectively assist, coach and monitor the work of the OPR unit Overpayment Specialists. This includes serving as a work leader, partnering with the team supervisor on work reviews and coaching opportunities, acting as a Subject Matter Expert to assist Overpayment Specialists and peers with program questions, responding timely to escalations, assisting new staff onboarding with the team, identifying trends and initiating training or continuous improvement initiatives, representing the OPR unit when collaborating with FAMLI stakeholders on improvement initiatives, providing and promoting a Culture of Care and high level of team and customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience Only:

Six (6) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position such as benefit claims experience.


Or

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to six (6) years

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative to identify and resolve problems.
